If you are a Merlin Annual Passholder and have additional needs and require assistance on your visits to our attractions, we issue one complimentary Merlin Annual Pass per disabled Passholder to be used by any carer - this is transferable between carers and therefore the Carer Passes will have the name, date of birth and a photo of the guest with additional needs.
As part of our commitment to improving the guest experience, the Carer Pass is available to Essential, Gold and Platinum Passholders to ensure consistency across our range of Passes, meaning that all Passholders who require assistance can be accompanied by a Carer if needed.
To obtain a complimentary Carer Pass, just purchase your Merlin Annual Pass online and then click here to complete a form (to evidence your disability). Once documentation has been accepted, you will receive a unique code to redeem your digital Carer Pass online. You are unable to apply for a Merlin Annual Carer Pass at an attraction.
You'll need to provide proof of disability when getting your Passes issued, this can be any of the following documentation:
- Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance for children under 16 or DLA/Personal Independent Payments (PIP) for those aged 16-64, either in the form of a letter stating that the benefit has been awarded, or the actual Allowance book.
- Incapacity Benefit books, or a letter notifying the recipient that they have been awarded Incapacity Benefit, Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) Disability Students’ Allowance (DSA), or DID card (UK Disabled ID card).
- A valid Blue Badge
- In the case of visual impairment, a registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI).
- Nimbus Access Card with the companion +1 symbol (or +2 if two Carers are required).
- A signed letter from a medical professional (like a GP or Consultant) which states that the named passholder requires a Carer. The letter must be dated within the last 2 years, must be printed on letter headed paper and be stamped by the establishment (e.g., Doctor’s Surgery, Hospital). If a passholder requires 2 Carers, the letter must reflect that requirement.
Carer’s Passes usually take up to 10 working days for us to arrange for you. However, during especially busy periods it can take longer.
